Thermal Bath of Nagyatád
Nagyatád is the town of the parks, statues and baths. It is situated on the main road No. 68 60km from Lake Balaton in the south part of Inner Somogy. The forests of the area offers great ways of leisure time activities for hunters and tourists as well. The town with its parks and greenery provides ideal conditions for relaxation.
It is one of the centres of the medical tourism. The nearly 100-year-old Thermal Bath, which lies in the middle of the horse-chestnut park of the town, attracts the tourists from all over the world. The thermal water of the bath that is suitable for bathing and drinking treatments is one of the most effective ones in Hungary. It is suggested for those who suffer from different kinds of rheumatologic, locomotor or gynaecologic diseases, or gastric pains.
The bath that was modernised in 1997 offers balneo-hydrotherapy, law and high frequency electro therapy and different kinds of massage with the help of professional staff.
There are pools and tube baths filled with 32, 38 and 42oC temperature thermal water in the covered part of the bath. The guests can relax in the Finnish type sauna and in its special pool. The thermal pool and the children pool as well as the complete bath are open in every season.
The unique attraction of the town is the world-famous Statue Park, where 64 great monuments can be seen. 24 pieces of work that were created in the International Wooden Workshop Camp can be found in public buildings and squares of the town. Those who are fond of nature can find marvellous hiking routes in the Forest Park or the Rower Lake or in the nearby area. Besides relaxation, you can find excellent cultural facilities as well. In addition to the programmes of the Cultural Hall, the Rinyamenti Festival and Fair and the Games without Border International Leisure Time and Sports Festival attract the tourists to the town.
Wherever you go in the town - either in well-cared parks or in streets or squares - you meet a peaceful small town and hospitable people.
