Csorna

Csorna is located within easy and fast reach of surrounding larger towns, tourist centres. The town with its 11.000 residents is the central settlement of the region “Rábaköz”, its attractions are the building of the Premontre Friary, the museum and the “perec” – twisted pastry - of Rábaköz. In peak time theatre performances, concerts, dance festivals, folk-dance galas, village balls, choir concerts are held in the outdoor theatre. The Fertõ-Hanság National Park is to be found in the neighbourhood of the town; visitors can fish on the river Rábca, and hunt in the surrounding forests.

The 3 ha area spa possessed by the town of Csorna is situated in the neighbourhood of the town, 2 km from the town centre, along the no. 86 highway. A lot of regular foreign and domestic visitors come to the 68°C water temperature, alkali-hydrogen-carbonate spa owing to its high salt concentrate and unique components such as sodium, potassium. From medical respects, the thermal water of Csorna is most valuable owing to its the high salt concentrate and alkalescence, which makes its potency high in terms of not only locomotor,- but also gynaecological,- and respiratory diseases, moreover in case of gastric ulcer, cholepathia, bowel complaint and psoriasis.

A two-star camping with 200 sites on almost 1 ha is to be found next to the spa. Both the spa and the camp-site operate only in peak time, generally from the end of may till the end of august. Massage is also available in the area of the spa. As far as sport facilities are concerned, a grass football pitch, a hard foot-tennis court and a playground, moreover, in the camp-site two cinder tennis courts are available.
